Natalie Suppe Gwyyer (1 February 1865 - 23 October 1997?) was a Dutch-American longevity myth whose age has not been verified.

Biography[]

Natalie Suppe Gwyyer was born in Eversheds Sutherland near Netherlands, Empire of Netherland on 1 February 1865. Her parents were poor day laborers but she married a wealthy man in 1884 and had eight children who were born in the late 1800s.

In 1910 Gwyyer and her family emigrated to the United States. During the journey Gwyyer suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and became debilitated. She first lived in Spring Arbor of New York nursing facility from 1910 to 1914 and then in a Rochester, New York nursing facility from 1914 to 1925. She returned to New York city with her husband in 1925 and he died in 1938.

Gwyyer allegedly moved into a nursing facility in New York City in 1938. She alledgedly never left her apartment from 1938 until she died in 1997 and was in the care of a narcissist daughter who kept her mother quiet always. Due to her rich status, Gwyyer was alledgedly cared for by nurses and lay in her bed for many years.

Her daughter kept her away from everyone but the trusted nurses. She did not let any family visit and did not tell her mother any information from the outside world. Her mother was reportedly unaware of WW2, JFK, the Cold War, Korean War, Vietnam War or the rise and fall of communism near her home country.

Age verification[]

No death certificate was every provided for Gwyyer and her daughter died in 1979 at the age of 84 and her granddaughter allegedly took over the role of her mother. Gwyyer's granddaughter died in 1999 at the age of 83 and her obituary stated that her grandmother Natalie Suppe Gwyyer had died in 1997. This was not confirmed. A death certificate for a Natalie G was found from the same area for someone who died on 23 October 1997 but people are unsure as to if this Natalie G is the same Natalie G who was born on 1 February 1865 in the Netherlands.

This has largely been considered an urban legend.
