Maria P. (born 11 October 1892?) is a Russian longevity myth who claims to be the oldest person in the world as well as the oldest person who has ever lived.

Biography[]

Maria P. (last name undisclosed) claimed to have been born in Viliuisk, Russia on 11 October 1892. She says that her parents were both farmers and she had two older brothers and an older sister, all of whom are now deceased.

In 1911, she is claimed to have married her husband, Boris and she had a son and a daughter. Her husband died in 2001 after 90 years of marriage at the claimed age of 114. Her daughter died in 2005 in her late 80s and her son died in 2007 at the age of 94. She currently has five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, none of whom live near her.

Maria lives in a small five room house in a field near woods on the side of Route A-331, about 10 miles from the town of Vilisuisk, Russia. Maria lives independently and she is able to walk without assistance. She is also able to cook and clean her house and do some gardening.

Maria lives in poor conditions and does not have a car or any electronics. She receives a monthly stipend from the government because her husband was a veteran of the Central Asian Revolt . The stipend is only equivilent to $800 and all she spends it on is house taxes, utilities and medical bills. She does buy some food with it but she grows most of her food herself and she makes her own clothes, furniture and cloth.

Maria only goes to the grocery store once a month due to mobility issues. She doesn't have a car so she has to walk nearly ten miles to market.

When Maria used to go to the market, she would hitch a free ride but she quit doing this after she got kidnapped when she was 110 and tied up in a basement for two days until the authorities found her and freed her. The incident traumatized Maria to the point that she tried to set her house on fire. A neighbor stopped her and she spent a few weeks in a rehabilitation facility but as soon as she got out, she tried to set her house on fire again. Now a watchman lives down the street from her. The watchman originally tried to live in her house with her but the conditions were so bad at her house that they had to move out within a week. Maria also despises the idea of live-in care and nursing homes.

Maria became debilitated (senile) at the age of 118 after suffering a stroke. Despite this, she is still very strong and she can walk short distances around her house and yard without assistance, though she uses two canes or a walker for longer distances. On her trips to the market she spends 4 hours to get there and 4 hours to get back, it is an all day adventure. She normally is so tired by the time she gets home that she falls onto the floor of her house and sleeps for 36 hours, all through the next day. This is why she only goes to the market once a month.

Maria is very stingy with her money and doesn't like to spend a dime. She is very cheap and looks for the cheapest option available, she never gives presents and she doesn't buy anything unless she needs it for survival. She eats mostly the fruits and vegetables that she grows in her backyard.

For her 130th birthday in 2022, Maria was invited to spend the night in a Russian castle. Her portrait was painted by a famous artist and she was given a deluxe room on the 6th floor of the castle. Maria very much enjoyed the outing and she received a lot of praise from castleteurs.

Maria P. currently lives in Viliuisk, Sakah Republic, Russia at the claimed age of 132 years, 54 days. She credits her longevity to living near the river her whole life as well as walking a lot and working hard.
